Aluminium wear plates are used to protect the inside of the body from highly abrasive loads. Abrasive loads are loads that grate vigorously against the side walls while unloading, such as stones or scrap. Wear plates come in various sizes, shapes and thicknesses, depending on the load transported. When a wear plate becomes worn, a new plate can be welded on so as not to damage the inside of the body.
